Frequently Asked Questions
I truly believe that there is no such thing as a stupid question, so, if there is something you want to know about Celebrant led ceremonies and you cannot find the answer here on my website, please get in touch!
Is a Celebrant led ceremony legally binding?
It is important to remember that a Celebrant led wedding ceremony is not legally binding at the moment in England and Wales. The legal formalities will need to be conducted by a Registrar at your local Register Office. This is a quick and simple 'no frills' process. You only need to attend with two witnesses, say the contracting words and sign the marriage register. You do not have to exchange your personal vows or rings at this service and indeed most couples prefer to save this for their Celebrant ceremony.
Naming Ceremonies and Renewal of Vows are not legal ceremonies.
Can we write our own vows and promises?
Absolutely! If you would like to prepare your own vows and promises but don't know where to start, I am more than happy to help you.
Can I have a Celebrant led ceremony anywhere and at any time?
Yes! Just as long as you have the permission from the landowner or venue owner.
What areas do you cover?
I work mainly in the West Midlands, Staffordshire and Shropshire but am happy to travel further afield if requested.
Can family members or friends be involved?
It's lovely to include friends and family in your celebrations and I specialise in involving children in ceremonies. Do you want your beloved pet to be part of your day? If so let's chat about how to make that happen too!
Can we have a rehearsal?
It is important to me that you are as relaxed about your ceremony as you possibly can be so I do offer you the option of having a rehearsal at some point before the day itself. This can be at the Venue, but if this is not possible for whatever reason, we will find an alternative option or even have a run through on zoom!
How do I book and how does payment work?
First, contact me through email, via my social media channels or my contact form and we can arrange an initial consultation. If you decide you would like me to work with you to write and lead your celebrations, you will need to pay a 50% non-refundable deposit. This will secure your date. The remaining 50% of the balance will be due 30 days prior to the ceremony day.
We have no idea what we want to include in our ceremony. Can you help us?!
Of course! I am always keen to hear your ideas and will help you turn them into reality. If, like many others, you do not really know what you want, I look forward to sharing all my ideas with you and having lots of fun as we create your perfect ceremony!
